Mark has been with The Players Club since its opening in 2002. He started out at Trentham Golf Club in Stoke and then moved from there to work under Paul Barrington at The Kendleshire Golf Club. Since moving to The Players, Mark has worked on the building of the course for 6 months before it opened taking the Head Professionals post in 2006.
Mark runs a fantastic shop that stocks the latest brands in both hardware and clothing. If you need club fitting then a launch monitor will help fit you with the perfect clubs which will provide you with those extra yards.
Head Teaching Professional – Ian Watts 07973 969967
Ian has worked with all types of golfers in his 40 years as a professional. In his time Ian has coached many players on the European Mens and Ladies Tour and with some of the best Amateurs in the game. Aside from this Ian teaches many club golfers getting as much pleasure from his beginners ladies classes and high handicap men. If you are looking for a coach who will help you produce results from your game then look no further.
PGA Advanced Professional – Paul Gravell
With many years experience in coaching all levels of golfers from complete beginners, county players, national players and also my fellow professionals. Several of my pupils have represented the Gloucester Golf Union at county level and been selected for the England South West squad, as such I am a Gloucester Golf Union preferred coach. Having had junior pupils attain national squad status, several former pupils are now training for PGA status. Some of whom I have taken from junior to qualified PGA status. I have attended numerous seminars over the years headlined by renowned coaches such as Butch Harmon, David Leadbetter and Dennis Pugh, among others. I would like to think that I am still gaining knowledge to help my clients improve all aspects of their game.
Teaching Professional – Kirsty Taylor 07974 567364
Former British Strokeplay Champion and Curtis Cup player, Kirsty was runner-up in the 2000 Womens British Open and won the Wales Ladies Championship in 2005. Since retiring Kirsty has turned her hand to coaching, passing her many years of experience onto fellow golfers, Specialising in Ladies and Juniors, Kirsty is part of the Gloucester Girls coaching set-up and is a valuable member of The Players teaching team.
