The Ups and Downs for our teams.

Its another pretty good season for our teams with our ‘firsts’ making great progress in division 4 with five matches played and four wins, although that does not paint the full picture as three of those wins have been away from home visiting, Wells, Kingsdown and against Chipping Sodbury ‘seconds’, with four home games left its looking very positive for third division golf next year.
Our ‘seconds’ have put in some great performances but got turned over by Thornbury at home. Currently second placed with two away matches to play at Saltford and at Failand it needs two wins to put the pressure on Long Ashton who looked a good team when we narrowly beat them here.
The ‘thirds’ enjoyed promotion last year but survival in Division 7 is reliant on Bath and Shirehampton having a bad run, as this year three teams get the chop. The positives to draw on are that we have used a big squad and everyone under 8 handicap that has wanted to play has been given a game and its great experience for the future.
In the Presidents Cup, we have won the first two rounds and the July 27th home clash with Henbury could see us in good position to win for the third time.
Finally a big big thank you to our captains and vice captains, Neil Parker, Zac Annear, Ian MacDonald, Dan Molloy, Chris Knowlton and Mark Shail who have given up their times.
