Canons Court Mews is a
development of holiday cottages built in the Cotswolds.
Recently completed to a very high standard with gorgeous views
of the countryside that stretch out for miles, including the 9
hole Canons Court golf course. The cottages are situated on a
quiet road, less than a mile away from Wotton-under-Edge and 4
miles from junction 14 of the M5 and just 20 minutes from
junction 18 of the M4 and The
Players Club.
The
Golf....
The
Players Club is an impressive 18 hole, championship
course with a further 18 holes (The Stranahan Course) due to
open summer 2009. The course is rich in features with woodland,
lakes, trees and gorse coming in to play on most holes and as
one notable golf writer said 'this is about as good as it gets!'
Golf World ranked the course #113 in the 2006 best golf courses
in GB & I. The club has hosted the Europro tour since 2002 and
staged 3 West Region Professionals Championships..
The Kendleshire - When
you visit The Kendleshire Golf Club for the first time, you'll
discover one of the true gems of West Country golf and
hospitality. The Kendleshire rests on 200 acres of beautiful
English Countryside; as soon as you arrive at The Kendleshire,
you leave behind the hustle and bustle of daily life and you
enter an oasis of relaxation and enjoyment-with wonderful views!
Cumberwell Park - The Adrian Stiff designed 36
hole course is broken down to 4 very different 9's
encompassing a perfect mixture of rolling
countryside, tranquil woodland and challenging water
features. All greens have been built to USGA
specification; the tees are built with sand based
root zone mix, ensuring that temporary tees and
greens are not required during Winter months.
Minchinhampton Golf Club-
Was founded in 1889, comprises three golf courses, each of quite
different character. The Old Course, on Minchinhampton Common,
provides a good test, with some particularly excellent par 3s,
and is situated on common land between Stroud and
Minchinhampton. The two new courses, Avening and Cherington, are
situated to the east of Minchinhampton, on the road to Avening
and provide testing golf, be it on the Avening Course with its
park land style, or on the Cherington which has more of a links
feel about it.
St Pierre Golf & Country Club - For anyone who loves the
game of golf, there are few places that offer such a stunning
setting and range of course challenges than St. Pierre Country
Club. It features two 18-hole courses that wind through some of
the oldest and most prized trees in Europe.
The famous Old Course has played host to many top
tournaments from the PGA Welsh Masters to the
Solheim Cup and Dunlop Masters. The Mathern Course
is shorter, yet presents its own unique challenges.
Burnham & Berrow Golf Club - One of England's famous
links courses, founded in 1890 and venue for over 100
years of English Amateur and International
Championships, from the British Ladies in 1906 to the
English Amateur in 2006.
The Manor
House Golf Club - Originally designed by Peter
Alliss and Clive Clark. In an area of outstanding
natural beauty - mature oak trees, manicured fairways
and hand-cut greens together with the River Bybrook
