Hole 4 Island
Par 4 Stroke Index 3
A hole destined to grace the covers of the golf magazines; our signature hole is likely to put the fear into most golfers, especially aqua phobic ones! The tee shot is played across a lake to a sleepered edged peninsular fairway and the carry is a daunting 175 yards from the back markers. Mounds to the right will help gather the ball, but the long drawn drive will reward an easier second shot across the lake to a narrow elevated sleepered green. The fun does not stop here, as the green is multi-leveled, making two putts a difficult task. From the forward tees the hole is reduced to 345 yards.
On 2nd June 2003 Paul Barrington, Golf Director drove this signature hole from the yellow tee some 345 yards (carry) whilst performing his world renowned golf trick show at the Gordon Brand Snr Benefit Day. Steve Ashley, Chris Dawe, Rob Hamilton have achieved eagle 2's.
