Hole 3 Fools Gold
Par 4 Stroke Index 17
Your first realistic chance of a birdie comes with this sharply bending dog-leg. The tee shot is played over a small pond to a saddle style fairway.
It’s an easy target but the carry is some 175 yards from the very back tee. A mass of gorse and hawthorn guards the front edges to the green to stop the big-hitters of the world attacking this green, which, has been designed to accept an approach from the fairway and not from the right. Be careful, a shot running through the green may find water, as this awkward hole defends it’s par with a strong ridge that straddles the left central area. Safety first is the key to this hole.
In 2007 the 3rd hole will become a Par 3 to a new undulating green of some 165 yards.
Lots of 'two's have been recorded here.
