 Hole 2       Sands Court

Par 4    Stroke Index   13

Our second hole is called ‘Sands Court’ named after the mansion house on the hill. A sharp dogleg with the woodland to the right, the tee shot is played to a ridge. You will need to avoid the bunker at 280 yards on the right and a further pair of spectacle bunkers await the long hitters.

The safe side is always to the left on this hole and gives you a better angle of approach. From a reasonable tee shot you will probably be hitting a medium iron over a long snaking hollow to a ‘U’ shaped green that wraps itself around the pit. The green itself is welcoming, gathering in from the left and facing the player. The slopes are steep and fast if you are past the pin.

Paul Bennett achieved a rare albatross ACE here from the forward tee, in July 2002 whilst playing with Ian Watts the professional at Canons Court.
